Leanne + Andy: Married in North Carolina!

Hello blog readers! I have been working on this post for quite a while! You see, over Labor Day weekend, I had the fabulous opportunity to attend/photograph the wedding of my college friend, Leanne! She has told me since I started my business, that when she got married, she wanted me to shoot it! She and I met in French class, of all places, and hilarity ensued. We had a professor who decided to cut her hair with a pair of rusty scissors directly before class one day...and we used to study while watching Tom Green on MTV...(you know...My bum is on the Swedish...Sweeeeeedish). Anyway, she is one of those friends that I haven't gotten to see much since college...she's in Baltimore while I'm in St. Louis, and I had never even gotten the opportunity to meet her fiance. Trust me, when you spend time with these two, you wish you lived closer! This was also evidenced by the HUGE turnout of friends they had from all over the country, many of them driving 8+ hours to see them exchange vows!

On to the images. I know I do this about once every few months...but this is my LONGEST blog post ever :) I want to give a shout out to my 2nd photographer for the day, Meghan Vince, who is also a friend of the bride. She did an awesome job, and some of the photos you'll see below are hers!

Here's a great idea for you...the bridesmaids got ready in a chocolate shop...and had an informal brunch for all the ladies in town for the wedding...

Fun shoe shot by Meghan...Leanne knew we liked shoes...

The bouquets were gorgeous...

Leanne was pretty calm while getting ready...and if she wasn't, she hid it well :)

We did a first look, and since it was only about 2, and not a cloud in the sky, we went in the alley for some shade...
And the alley had some pretty light...

Meet Andy, the handsome groom! Don't you love the tie/boutt combo?

And my lovely friend Leanne, who was absolutely beaming the entire day!

Meghan's photo on the left with the 50 1.2, and mine on the right with the 24 1.4.

This fantastic red wall was right across from the chocolate place, and we did a ton of shots there.

Factoid: The girl on the far right of this photo is a sorority sister of mine, Go Chi-O :)

Walked through the streets of Asheville to look for some more photo locations...

We had actually been at this place, Pack's Tavern, the night before for a welcome party...really cool bar/restaurant!

The following photos may be some of my favorite wedding images ever. As we were walking, we came across the fire house...Leanne began exclaiming "I LOVE FIREMEN!!!!" So we posed with the fire truck...
And then out came some real-life firemen :)

And then Leanne did the following...
I mean, hey, she's not technically married yet....

Then we headed a few miles out of town to the Hickory Nut Gap Farm. Super cool spot for a wedding...

Meghan captured some beautiful moments before the ceremony.

The sunlight coming into the grove of trees was crazy! But it had this cool effect on Leanne's veil...

Yippee!!

We had to go out and grab some more beautiful images on the grounds of the farm...

This was my blog teaser a few days ago...how awesome is this trampoline?

Then we got a little crazy with some props...

And recreated the "American Gothic" painting. We looked it up on my blackberry to make sure we were getting the expressions down. Leanne kills me in these next two photos...

She took it a bit further in this one!

This house was full of eggs!

Detail explosion! Their reception was full of rustic details...

Their tribute to some lost relatives was absolutely beautiful.
Apple butter for a favor...yes please!

One of my favorite reception/dance sequences ever:

Then the guys threw Leanne up in a chair...
And it didn't go quite as well for Andy...
A whole group of Miami (OH) grads! Do ya see me?
And a ring shot to end the night....
