Julie and Chris: Married!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Julie and Chris. Julie's mom, Angie, booked me way back because Julie and Chris were living in New York City and couldn't get home for a meeting. I was excited to meet Julie a few months ago, as she was sweet as could be, and couldn't wait to see the couple finally together this weekend. Their day was filled with good friends, family, and some loving, quiet moments between them. They are one of those couples you can tell is all about each other on the wedding day.

We started out at the family home...
Her beautiful Justin Alexander dress was hanging in the foyer when we arrived...

My 2nd shooter, Gail, headed to the Hilton to shoot a few of the guys getting ready. Julie presented Chris with some new cufflinks.

And Chris gave Julie a beautiful necklace.

The flowers were by Bloomin' Buckets, and were really pretty!

The girls were stylin' in their monogrammed bathrobes!

I just love the shot on the right!

Time to get dressed!

And then seeing it all put together gave Julie that "Oh my goodness, I'm a bride" kind-of feeling!

Chris and his groomsmen arrived on the trolley so the couple could have their "first look".

They had such a genuine, happy reaction!

Then we hopped on the trolley and headed to Kirkwood. First, some flower details...

And we shot some photos around the Kirkwood Train Station...

We only had about 30 seconds on the tracks before we got kicked off by an old man telling us the police would come if we didn't leave :)

But he didn't mind us shooting a few inside...I love these!

I scouted a little alley nearby a few days before the wedding...the light was beautiful...

Repeated photo from the sneak peek a few days ago...it deserves another round :)

Then we headed down to Tower Grove Park, as the ceremony and reception were both being held at the Piper Palm House.
The girls were looking pretty....

While the guys were eating and being silly...

We let the bridal party go and whisked the couple away for some more shots of just them...

I love Julie's dress. Different, but classic at the same time. And her veil was super cool!

Wiiiide shot by Gail. Love this too.

There were a ton of pretty details...

Brides-to-be...this is one of the reasons you want a 2nd photographer on your big day. Gail stayed back with the bride while I was up front shooting the processional. I just love this last-moment shot...I think it's one of my favorites from the day!

After the ceremony they were so, so happy! Look at Chris wiping her tears...makes me teary just looking at it!

We took the horse-drawn carriage to a nearby spot for a few pics with the gorgeous early evening light.

Told you the light was gorgeous!

Then back to the reception, with more fun details!

Chris toasted his bride...

And they had their beautiful first dances...

Got in one of my fun night ring shots!

At the end of the reception, Charles from Gebbs Wedding Films showed the couple their Same-Day Edit. This always seems to blow the crowd away. I kept teasing that the photographer never gets this kind of reaction :)

And off they ran, on to the after party!
Here are some of Julie and Chris' wedding vendors from the day, who helped make it so special:

Florist: Bloomin' Buckets
Video: Gebbs Wedding Films
Menus and Programs: Claudia at Paper Patch
Dress: Justin Alexander from Town and Country Bridal
Ceremony/Reception Venue: Piper Palm House, with catering by Butler's Pantry
Music: TKO DJ's
Strings: Quartet Brioso
Hair: Peggy Sagehorn of Hair Engineers
Makeup: Carol Chrisman from Saks Fifth Avenue
